Eichelberger 80 Brut is probably the best German “blanche” absinthe. It follows logically the success of it’s older version, Eichelberger 68.
This absinthe, although it has a high alcohol level has a round and mellow palate.
Unsweetened, it contains only quality herbs.
It is up to you to select your favourite among the big Eichelberger family, as all tastes are different.
An absinthe to discover !
Eichelberger 80 Brut absinthe is the younger version of Eichelberger 68.
Eichelberger 68 is the winner of a contest organised on a German forum (Absinth-Guide). Wanting to improve the image of German absinthe, fifteen members of the forum developed quality distilled absinthes. The winning recipe was Michal Weinzierl’s and 60 bottles of it were produced. It was so successful that they decided to commercialise it.
Michael Weinzierl, the author of the recipe of the Eichelberger 80 Brut absinthe, chose the Eichelberger distillery because it was close to his town. It is a family distillery that belongs to Lili and Rudolf Wild. Small and modern, it produces 30 litres per distillation and has a high regard for quality.
In 2005, they enthusiastically started the production of the first authentic German absinthe. Five quality absinthes follow the first one:
Eichelberger 58 Blanche, Eichelberger 60 Verte, Eichelberger 70 Verte, Eichelberger 70 Classic and Eichelberger 80 Brut.
